At a meeting on February 15, 2018, the Jury, composed of 11 jurors – cultural producers Cláudia Regina, Conceição Mendes, Joana Ferreira, Manuela Jorge, Miguel Abreu, Mónica Almeida, Nuno Pratas, Nuno Ricou Salgado, Rita Sousa Guerreiro, Alexandre Oliveira and Rui Matoso – elected Tânia Guerreiro’s candidacy, awarding her the Prize for Best Cultural Producer 2017. The award ceremony took place on March 22, 2018, at 7:00 pm, at Teatro do Bairro, in Lisbon.
Curriculum presentation of the winner
Born in 1975, in Lisbon, Tânia Guerreiro has a degree in Dance Production and Management from Fórum Dança (1999), but has a degree in set design from Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (2007), having finished the course in Barcelona at the Institut del Teatre. She returned to Fórum Dança to complement her training this time in the Performing Arts Management and Production Course.
He has worked in various areas of production of shows, cinema, visual arts, festivals – such as Festival Atlântico, Festival Temps d’Images and Alkantara – and in structures such as Casa d’os dias da Água, ZDB, Transforma, Jangada de Pedra, where he performed functions of production, management, fundraising and communication. From January 2009 to October 2010, she was the executive coordinator at Rede – Association of Structures for Contemporary Dance. In August 2009, together with other production professionals, he created a work platform for independent producers – Produções Independentes – where he develops collaborations with independent artists and structures for creation and programming. Between 2012 and 2013 it established a collaboration with Transforma, in Torres Vedras, as a programmer of activities and supported the development of European projects.
Since 2014 he is dedicated to the direction of Produções Independentes, continuing the work with the creator Rui Catalão, since 2010, along with the work he does with other artists and more specific projects. Between 2016 and 2017 she was president of the Board REDE.
Already in 2017 he created the association ORGIA – Organization, Research and Arts to support emerging artists.
