O FÔLEGO – Negócios Sustentáveis – artistic intervention program driven by the fight against climate change in Mação, Sertã, Oleiros, Proença-a-Nova and Vila de Rei – takes place in the Center of Portugal. In the first quarter of 2023, this project of the Academia de Produtores Culturais reaffirms the mission of “bringing together and breathing
better times”, appealing to the involvement of the local community around a conscious and healthy future, through a crossed programming between artistic areas: music, dance, theatre, workshops and community actions.
February will bring the start of the Sustainable Business Workshop (Feb 4th – Mar 18th) – five days with specialized trainers, one per municipality, for entrepreneurs, artists, and local agents. It will also bring the fourth stop of the Vilas Mutantes initiative – work on memories and reactions to fire, knowledge, and community concerns by choreographer Alice Duarte and musician Alexandre Moniz – this time in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova. Also this quarter, FÔLEGO will promote in Oleiros, Proença-a-Nova and Vila de Rei a community reforestation session, mobilizing volunteers to plant trees collected in the Planta Party events in burned areas in the respective municipalities.
FÔLEGO is financed by EEA Grants, the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism, and promoted by the Academia de Produtores Culturais, in partnership with Mapa das Ideias, Heidi Ruustgard, University of Iceland, Associação Pinhal Maior, and the five municipalities – Mação, Oleiros, Proença-a-Nova, Sertã, Vila-de-Rei. FÔLEGO will operate in the territory between 2021 and July 2023.
